HOLIDAY EFFICIENCY RACE TRAFFIC FIGURES Aucklanders have shown more Inclination this year to travel to and from the races in the trains. Large crowds have been moved in remarkably quick time, and on Boxing Day, the big day at Ellerslie, 2,471 race-goers were carried away from the course in less than an hour. These passengers were brought from Ellerslie to Auckland in about 10 minutes. The times of leaving the course and the number of passengers carried on each train were as follow: —5.22 train, 395 passengers; 5.32, 442; 5.37, 450; 5.42, 450; 5.47, 450; 5.54, 84; 6.10, 100. On Boxing Day, 2,012 passengers were taken to Ellerslie from Auckland, compared with 1.651 last year, and the train from Frankton Junction brought 1,428 passengers. The following day 693 passengers travelled by train from Auckland and 265 from the country. The return figures were 973 from the course to Auckland, and 364 from the course to southern stations.
