COIN RECEPTACLE BROKEN OPEN

YOUNG MEN ARRESTED “SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES” Frederick George Mayes, aged 24, was arrested at two o'clock this morning with a house-break* ing implement in his possession. At the Police Court to-day, he and Clyde Clark, aged 17, were charged with damaging a coin receptacle and stealing 2s Bd. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that there were suspicious circumstances which required further investigation. Accused were remanded to appear on Wednesday next, Mayes being refused bail. Clark was allowed bail in a sum of £l5O.
