SIXPENCE TIME

A LETTER FROM SISTER PAT Dear Sunbeams of Happy Town,— I can t tell you how pleased and hITIV "' aS When 1 found thlt you of' d i?® t in ee ? you ’ sent in the big sum wLw/t 10s f or my children’s camp at Waiheke. It takes a lot of sixpences to make £l2 10s, and I think it is just wonderful of you to give up your °'™ Pocket-money so that other children can have a nice holiday. I f hat sixpence is quite a big sum an^ v , of , you - and lam sure you went without many little treats to save up so many. You will be pleased to hear that this money will give 25 children a week’s holiday each by the seaside. These children all come from homes in the crowded city streets, where it is very hot and where there is no room to piay. lou can imagine how they will love to be in camp, right on the beach, have plenty of fresh air and sea bathing. I hope that your own holidays will be ever so much happier i because you have done so much to give these other children a good time. 1 must specially mention Joyce McLean, who collected no less a sum Crlen Massey* also the First Devonport Brownie* Pack, who ran a stall and made £1 17s. To these and to every little Sunbeam who sent in even one sixpence to the Happy Town Sixpence Time, I am very, very gratel ul. Later on, I hope to send you some snaps of the camp at Waiheke, so that you can see what a lovely place it is for a holiday. With best wishes for the jolliest of good times to all of you. Yours sincerely, SISTER PAT.
