“DOCTORING” SCORE CARDS
TT is a regrettable fact that the -■-habit of doctoring bowling score cards before being handed to the umpire is still in vogue, and is being done at the present tournament. A case in point happened this week at a suburban green, when one of the competing teams peaked on the 17th head, when the score card read at 20 to 5. When it reached the umpirej’s hands the scores recorded were 20 to 15. In the previous round the same skip annihilated his opponent by 24 to 9, but in this case the proper score was allowed to stand. “Doctoring the cards” used to be quite frequent once upon a time, but it has been gradually stamped out, and it is to be hoped that these isolated instances are not repeated. It is up to skips not to sign wrongly recorded scores.
