What England’s mammoth air-liner, the R-100. will look like when it is completed at the building works at Howden. It will have a cruising radius of 4,500 miles, and will be able to complete the London to New York air-trip in 48 hours. It will be 709 feet long, 130 feet high, and will carry 100 passengers and a crew of 35, together with 10 tons of mail or freight. The ship will be powered by six Rolls-Royce engines, with a total of 4,200 horse-power, to drive it at a cruising speed of 75 miles an hour.
