BALCLUTHA BAND

SERIES OF CONCERTS A band of exceptional merit is now touring Auckland. This is the Balclutha Boys’ Band, and although the performers are only young, their ages ranging from nine to 16 years, they are all good instrumentalists, and play exceptionally well. Much credit is due to the conductor, Mr. A. Wood. They will give a series of concerts commencing this evening with a performance in the Newmarket Square. On Saturday afternoon they will play on Cheltenham Beach and in the evening at Albert Park. They will be at Point Chevalier on Monday afternoon and again at Albert Park in the evening at 8 o’clock. The band has a varied repertoire, including selections from works by. Wagner, Rimmer and Lithgow. There will also be several solo items with band accompaniment.
