CLAIM FOR MILLIONS

BEQUEST OF 1798 LONDON, December 15. The petition of nine claimants for the "Lepine Millions” was dismissed in the Chancery Court to-day by Mr. Justice Romer, after he had previously reversed judgment. The “Lepine Millions,” which are supposted to amount to £2,500,000, passed into the hands of George Ifl. when Maria Lepine died in 1798. She wa salleged to be illegitimate, and left no heirs. George 111. left the estate to Admiral Howe, requiring him to furnish an indemnity to future kings should the genuine claimant be discovered. Counsel for the nine claimants, who are descended from Maria’s aunc, stated that proof had been obtained that Maria was not illegitimate, and, as the Howe beneficiaries were dead, he urged that the Crown should pay.
