HINDENBURG ON POSTER GERMANY OBJECTS LONDON, December 23. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” says representations have been made by Germany regarding a poster appearing in France depicting President Hindenburg, in full pre-war uni-

form, with spiked helmet and a huge cavalry sword, and bearing the caption, “Hindenburg, the God of War, watches the 1928 elections as Bethman Hollweg watched the 1914 election.” The Foreign Office replied that although, under the French law, it had no power to intervene, steps had been taken to meet the German objection.
