INCREASE IN TOTE TURNOVER BIG RACE TO DAVE BENNETT

WESTPORT, Tuesday. The Westport Trotting Club’s summer fixture concluded in tine weather. There was a large attendance and the racing was keen and. exciting. Speculation was brisk, the sum of £9,993 10s being put through the machine, compared with £8,998 10s on the second day last year. The total tor the meeting was £20,088 10s, against £18,262 10s in 1926, an increase of £1,826. The chief event was won by Kreisler, from the stable of Dave Bennett, who won the race last year with Kreisler’s stable-mate, Trimmer.
