Tobacconist’s Looted for Third Time

THEFT AT AVONDALE SHOP STRIPPED OF GOODS Thieves stripped the tobacconist shop of Mr. Phil Woods, Great North Road, Avondale, last night. This morning the front door of ‘ the shop was found open, and almost torn from its hinges. T HI ® is the third time Mr. Woods’s | shop has ben broken into. The last occasion was only a few months ago, when tobacco and cigarettes to the value of £4O were taken. Mr. Woods had a large quantity of tobacco and cigarettes in stock, but the whole shop was cleared. The total amount is not yet known, but it is a fairly large one. After the last break Mr. Woods placed extra locks on his door. This, however, did not prevent the thieves from breaking in last night, and doing considerable damage. The shop is a lock-up one, in front of a billiard saloon, right on the main road in the heart of Avondale.
