“LITTLE HEARD OF THE SOUTH ISLAND”
AUSTRALIAN JUDGE’S VISIT “One hears too much about the thermal regions of New Zealand. “In Australia one does not hear much of the South Island. If the other is overdone, then the South Island is underdone." THAT is the opinion of Mr. Justice Cantor, who arrived from Sydney by the Ulimaroa yesterday afternoon to spend a holiday in the South Island. His Honour was recently appointed to the Industrial Commission of New South Wales. Members of the commission have the status of a puisne judge. Mr. Justice Cantor says that the publicity work of New Zealand in Australia is excellent, but in his opinion the thermal regions are made to overawe the scenic beauties of the Dominion. He thinks that the beauties of the South Island should be more widely known. Very little is said about them in Australia. ilis Honour will spend his vacation in the South and hopes to include the [ Milford track in his tour*
