KARINE BURIED WITH FULL NAVAL HONOURS
FELL FROM SHIP’S GANGWAY
The funeral took place yesterday** Waikumete Cemetery of the marine, William Hill Woodruff, was killed on Sunday evening tnrous falling from the gangway of his sa H.M.S. Diomede, on to a log fender. He was accorded full uaval honours. A Union Jack draped the coffin ya was borne on a gun-carriage. from every ship of the division present. Mr. Woodruff was the only 1 s son of his mother, who still nv England. His father and brothers, served their country with during the Great War, were al in action. He was engaged to be young lady in England on comp of l\is service in New Zealand. o 0 The inquest, which was pT^ ll re - Monday and adjourned, will sumed to-morrow morning.
