In the log served upon the employers by the Builders’ and Labourers’ Federation, £ll for a 44hour week is asked for labourers engaged in the demolition of buildings. This is irrespective of fares to and from the job. An extra 2s 6d an hour, or a total of £l6 10s a week, is demanded where the men are engaged in burntout or dangerous buildings. For unloading cement, lime, and charcoal, £8 16s is asked, plus fares. Double overtime is requested for urgent repair and breakdown jobs, and treble overtime for Sunday work.
