DESERT BATTLE
STARTLES A TOWN Two rival factions, consisting of nearly SOO Arabs and soldiers, have just staged a colourful battle on the desert near Guadalupe, California, but there were no casualties. The only damage reported was the fears of the x'esidents of Guadalupe, the majority of whom questioned the dull detonations of cannon and the stacatto volleys of musketry which rolled over the sand dunes into the confines of their little city. All anxiety, however, was relieved when it was learned that all the shooting and noise was created by Bebe Daniels and her Paramount company, who were filming large battle scenes for her next comedy release for Paramount, “She’s a Sheik.” Corinne Griffith’s admirers will next see her in pictures as a United Artists’ star. Miss Griffith has announced that the production, “The Garden of Eden,” will be filmed partly in colour, a fact that should lend much additional lavishness to a very beautiful story.
