The Royal Mail steamer Niagara landed 14 of the crew of the ship Doris Crane, which was burned at sea with a cargo of copra, while en route from Fanning Island to San Francisco. The crew fought the flames all day,

and then took to the boats. The Niagara sighted the burning vessel. She hastened to help, and after a search picked up the boats.—Sun.
