AT WINGATUI

DUNEDIN’S FIXTURE ACCEPTORS FOR MONDAY Press Association. DUNEDIN. Thursday. The acceptances for the first da; (Boxing Bay) of the Dunedin Jocke? Club’s meeting are: TRIA LSTAKES

THE FINAL GALLOPS Trainers were busy this morning at Wingatui where the outside of the track proper was available. The going was good. With fine weather from now on the race track will be in splendid order for next Monday, when the summer meeting will commence. Neither Bright Mark nor Comic Song will be started on the first day. The former was badly galloped on her race on Saturday, and Comic Song, whose legs have been troubling him for some time, is to be treated and it is not likely he will be raced again this season. Schottische and Wingatui. each with good weights up, ran a mile, the last five furlongs taking 1.10 2-5. Pink Note, who looks well, was too good for Beauty Light over a mile run in 1.52. Felony and Tardy (a three-year-old filly by Archery—Dilatory) were companions in a half-mile sprint, which took 54 3-5. Heather Lad and Royal Saxon ran seven furlongs together in 1.36. Phaster and Camisader took 56 to run half a mile. Dismantle and Assemble ran half a mile in 54 2-5. Money Mine and Last Thought took 57 over the same course. Booster, who looks very well, sprinted fast over the last three furlongs of a circuit. Dumblane and Royal Heaw ran a good half mile in 53£, the former shaping well. Coastguard and WTiarncliffe went a solid mile and a-half, the last ten furlongs of which took 2.32 3-5. The latter was going much the better at the finish. SET SAIL'S GREAT TRIAL The fastest gallop of the season was

credited to Set Sail, which, jumping away from a racing start at the seven furlong post, ran the first three furlongs in 36, the first four in 49 and the full journey in 1.31. She was ridden by Voight, so would be carrying about 9st, and although inclined to stop a little over the last furlong registered a very fine gallop. Black Duke appeared to have slightly the better of Overhaul in a run over five furlongs, the first four taking 51 and the five 67. Gay Sonnet ran a mile in 1.52, the first half of which occupied 54. Puff, who has much improved lately, did a good round and sprinted home very fast. She can travel fast for a bit and should not be long getting into the winning list.
