DOMINION BOWLERS LOSE THE FIRST TEST
TEAMS OF THE STATES MELBOURNE, Thursday. There were ideal conditions and perfect greens at Moore Ronds for the first test match between the New Zealand bowlers and Australia. The Mayor of Essendon tendered a civic welcome to the New Zealanders, for whom Mr. Stone responded. The Australian team defeated the New Zealand bowlers by 114 points to 7S. The matches resulted as follows: Ninnes, Shelley. Clarke, Pascoe. Victoria, 25, defeated Hunt, Piper Casey, Hills, New Zealand, 16. Farrow, Rudd. Stone, Clark, New Zealand, 29, defeated McKean, Ramj Jay, McGowan, Hawson, Tasmania, j Gordon, Kruger, Bignell. Howe, ! Western Australia, 37, deleated Rowe, Keasing, Thomas, Hobday, New Zealand, 17. Scotter, Deane, Sargent, Gattrell, New South Wales, 26, defeated Goldwater, Short, Gold Water, Eagleton, New Zealand, 16.
