Engineer’s Services. —The engineer to the Mount Wellington Road Board, Mr. S. T. Dibble, has agreed to continue his services with the board until April 30 to complete certain works in hand.
Death At Hamilton. —The death of Mrs. Ethel Rochford, aged 38, occurred at Lake Crescent at 4 a.m. to-day. An inquest was opened and adjourned pending further details of the circumstances.
Youth Steals Watch.—A young man named Horace A. Douglas, aged 20 years, was charged at Hamilton yesterday with the theft of a watch from a cowshed, and fined £3.
Crushed By Truck. —During shunting operations at the Darfield station about 10 a.m. yesterday, C. A. Willcox, of Montreal Street, Christchurch, had his thigh crushed by a truck. He was brought to the Christchurch Hospital and his coadition is reported to ie satisfactory .--Frees Association,
