FREE TUITION IN LIFE SAVING
Sir, I notice that at the annual prizegivin gof the Mount Albert Grammar School held on Thursday evening last, the headmaster, Mr. F. W. Gamble, deplored the fact that there were practically no facilities for the tuition of life-saving in the city schools. Realising the necessity for this instruction, the Parnell Swimming Club has this season started life-saving classes at its headquarters, the Parnell Baths. Tuition is absolutely free and is available to anyone who cares to participate. Arrangements have already been made to provide swimming instruction for two -of the city’s largest schools, and the caretaker of the baths, Mr. W. Pay, will be pleased to receive the names of anyone else desirous of joining the club’s free classes in either swimming or life-saving. H. S. WITHERS. Captain, Parnell Swimming Club.
