THE SEAFARER’S SONG
Oh, men may love a* rambling road, And a life of tranquil dreaming, With nought to obey but the voice of the hills, And the joyous sunshine streaming.
And a man may long for his fireside hearth, When the dancing lights surround him, His pipe in his mouth and his book in his hand, And those he loves around him. But the man who loves as the best men love. He ploughs the seas asunder With the singing wind and the skies above, And below, the deep sea thunder. —Little Swift Canoe (Fitzie Morris).
