MUNICIPAL BAND

CAROL CONCERT In the Town Hall on Saturday next, Christmas Eve, the Municipal Band will hold its annual carol concert, when a programme of great charm will be presented. The Harmony Eight will play to special band accompaniments a series of old-fashioned Christmas carols. The band will play Handel's “Hallelujah” chorus, the overtures “Poet and Peasant” and “William Tell,” a tone poem, “Bells Across the Snow,” and a selection of popular favourites entitled “Classiea.” Vocal items will be contributed by the Misses Gladys Hosking and Maida Davison, and instrumental solos by Messrs. Purchase, McLennan and Bowes. Mr. Leo Whittaker is the accompanist. Booking, which is advisable, is at Messrs. Lewis i R. Lady and Son, Ltd., .Queen Street.
