PAPATOETOE ORPHANS

RECEIPT OF WIRELESS SET A very gay party, comprising members of the Auckland Shop Assistants" Association, paid a visit to the Papatoetoe Orphans’ Home on Monday night, and handed the matron a beautiful three-valve wireles set, which was immediately connected up, and received well. The children up to the age of 10 each received a present from Santa Claus, who was included in the party of visitors. The matron, Misa Ada Hooker, thanked the donors for their kindness, and the children showed their appreciation as only children can. A visit was also paid to the Manure \va children’s home on Monday night, and a wireless set also was handed over there for the amusement and education of the children. The younger children were the recipients of toys from Santa Claus, and a very happy hour was spent.
