POLL AT PAPAKURA
DECIDING RATING SYSTEM Ratepayers of the Papakura Town District are voting to-day to decide whether the system of rating on unimproved values shall be adopted. There is a total of 772 names on the electoral roll. » The polling places are the Town Board Offices, Papakura, and the Manukau County Council’s Offices, Shortland Street, city. The poll began at 9 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. The capital value 'of the district is £469,816, and the unimproved value is estimated to be £208,970. Polls taken this year by various local bodies show that the unimproved value system is becoming increasingly popular.
