1928 MODEL TALBOT

AN ADVANCED BRITISH CAR COMPLETE EQUIPMENT The slogan adopted by the Talbot distributors is that the new 1928 model Talbot is the most advanced British car being sold in the country, and certainly ■‘•the model seen recently by “Headlight” is as complete as anything in modern motoring. In fact, thoroughness in design and completeness of equipment are the outstanding features of this new Talbot. Every refinement and accessory is fitted, yet the car retains its sturdy invincible character. Solid workmanship is built into it. As an example of its up-to-date fittings may be mentioned standardfitted rear direction sign, duco paint, automatic spark control, adjustable one-piece screen with electric screenwiper, indirect dash-lighting, benzine and oil filters, and the control of all lights from the steering column. In a.ddition to these refinements, however, many improvements have been made to the last year’s models. For example, the oil-pressure system has been entirely redesigned, and the radiator considerably altered in appearance. Other factors that have received attention aro the springing, the strengthening of the chassis, the raising of the benzine tank six inches so us to provide even better ground clearance, and adjustment to the frontwheel brakes so that they require about half the usual pressure. Of particular interest is the rear carrier, which is fitted as standard equipment. This has been made to fold completely out of sight, but when opened up, it is capable of carrying 4cwt of luggage. Road performance is a strong feature of the new Talbot as can easily be understood when it is mentioned that the car can readily do 75 rn.p.h., and the petrol consumption is about 25 m.p.g.
