.In Saxony horse-drawn vehicles as well as motor vehicles are taxed, the proceeds helping to pay for road construction and maintenance. The recent second-hand car show at Birmingham, England, proved a remarkable success. All cars sold carried guarantees of condition. Good road building furnishes a useful and profitable market for large quantities of materials that would otherwise be without value. Never oil rubber spring supports at spring brackets, because it will destroy the action and possibly cause them to pull out. An engine should not be run at high speed at any time until the engine has warmed up and the oil is circulating freely. Cousin Gad Botts come to town last week and bought him a used car. It was certainly well trimmed. I heard since, but not as well as Gad. * * * After cylinders have been removed to grind valves or scrape carbon, it is important that stray particles of carbon bo cleaned from the outside of the motor to prevent them from being sucked into the carburettor.
