“THE CIRCUS ACE"
HIPPODROME AND EMPRESS TO-MORROW Tom Mix, aco of the Western stars, will open a week’s run at the Hippodrome and Empress Theatres to-mor-row in “The Circus Ace,” a colourful drama of the West based upon the experiences of a plainsman who is called upon to render aid when a beautiful performer is in trouble. Both Tom and his horse Tony are at their best in this story- of a ranchman who, looking up into the sky, sees a parachute drifting downwards toward him with a beautiful girl clinging to the trapeze. What follows is action woven into a story of dramatic interest that is jammed with suspense, thrills and considerable fun. A cast of screen favourites including Natalie Joyce in the role of the beautiful circus performer. Jack Baston, Duke Lee, James Bradbury-, Stanley Blystone and Dudley Smith support Mix. Then, of course, there is Tony, whose performance of his role seems to indicate an intelligence of almost humanlike qualities. “The Circus Ace” is the kind of entertainment that is sure to please old and young: alike. A special matinee for children will be held at the Empress Theatre to—flirow at 2 p.m.
