RIALTO
“HELD BY THE LAW” "Held bv the Law,” which will he shown at the Rialto Theatre to-night, came from tire gifted pen of Bayard
Veiller, whose ‘‘The Thirteenth Chair” was one of the biggest stage hits In years. Directed by Edward Laemmle, “Held by the Law** is crammed with suspense, with drama and by unexpected twists and turns of the plot which holds the
until the final denouement. Last-minute efforts of his friends and relatives to discover proof of his innocence while tho condemned man waits his end in the death cell, works the plot to fever heat and the climax when it comes, is as unexpected as it is dramatic. Tho large cast does exceptional work throughout. Marguerite de la Motte and Johnnie Walker play the leading roles. Ralph Lewis is splendid as the innocent man caught in the net of circumstantial evidence, Robert Ober, E. IX. Ratcliffe, Fred Kelsey, Maud Wayne and others play prominent supporting roles.
