FAREWELL TO HEADMASTER
NEWMARKET CHILDREN MEET A happy little function eventuated at Newmarket school yesterday, when the pupils, together with their parents and friends, met to farewell Mr. Charles Wilson, who has been headmaster of the school for eight years. Miss Goldsworthy, who has been at at the school for 12 years, Mrs. Shepherd, and Miss Bates, were also farewelled. The good wishes of the scholars were conveyed to the departing headmaster by Master Stallworthy, and the thanks of the staff were emended by Mr. Kibblewhite, one of the masters, while a tribute to the work of Mr. Wilson was paid by Mr. T. J. Watts, chairman of the school committee. Mr. Wilson expressed regret at leaving, and said the sole reason for his doing so was the fall in attendance at the school.
