MOUNT EDEN COUNCIL

YESTERDAY’S MEETING The Mount Eden Borough Council last evening resolved that an additional charge of 10 per cent, be made on all rates remaining unpaid after February 1, 1925. The Mount Albert Borough Council forwarded a blue print of the proposed reconstruction of Cricket Avenue, which it proposes to carry out by day labour. Mount Eden’s proportion of the cost would be £683 out of the estimated cost of £2,831. The question was referred to the engineer to report to the Works Committee. The Mayor, Mr. E. 11. Potter, read an invitation from the Tramways Committee of the City Council to attend a conference on transport questions on Wednesday. As he had communicated with other local bodies and found they could not be represented at the conference, owing to it being set down too close to the holidays, he proposed to reply stating that the borough was unable to meet the City Council. The Health Department wrote asking for prompt payment of the Water Commission chai'ge of £259 Is 7d. It was decided to make provision for the payment in next year’s estimates.
