INCREASED DUTIES OPERATING IN JUNE Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. The Minister of Customs, the Hon. AY. Downie Stewart, announces that he has been advised by the Commonwealth Government the date on which increased duties on butter, cheese and potatoes effected by the recently-re-vised Australian tariff. will become operative, so far as the Dominion is concerned, will be on and from June 15 next.

The amended rates are 6d a pound on butter and cheese and 2s 6d a cwt. on jootatoes.
