“AUSSIES” AND SCOTS HAVE MERRY TIME
PIPES AND HAGGIS FOOTBALLERS’ DINNER By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Monday. Colonel Duncan, president of the Scottish Rugby Union, in a speech at a dinner to the Waratahs, said it would he a long time before they saw a better match than Saturday’s. It was played from start to finish in the best Rugby spirit. The loss was no disgrace. The Scottish captain, Drysdale, paid a tribute to the Waratahs’ sportsmanship, and Jack Ford’s fine play. Mr. J. Aikman-Smith, Scottish representative on the International Board, toasted Mi* E. G. Shaw, manager of the Waratahs, who had fired him with a desire to visit New South Wales. The dinner was most enjoyable, Lawton commandeering the bagpipes and playing round the banquet hall, Wallace following, carrying a dish of haggis,—A. and N.Z.
