The defeat of Hamilton, the leading team in the Waikato, by Frankton, I was the outstanding event in Saturday's j cricket. Hamilton made 77 and 146, to which Frankton replied with 147 and 68 for two wickets. There were no big scores, the bowlers having the better of the argument all through. Hamilton East beat Old Boys by 0 30 runs. The winners made 232 and *- 132 (Badeley 42), to which Old Boys replied with 157 and 177. Hawke made a great effort to save the match for Old 1 Boys, carrying his bat through the second innings for 94 not out.
