“WE DONT CARE”
CHEERFUL GROG PARTY LIQUOR STORE PILLAGED THREE MEN DENY GUILT "WE don’t care—you’ve caught * us this time, but we’ve had a good feed of grog.” This philosophic remark was made to Constable Schmidt when he arrested Harry Collins, aged 48. Peter Kelly, aged 42. and William Martin, aged 36. on the night of December 3. At the Police Court to-day Collins, Kelly, and Martin were charged with breaking and entering the warehouse of C. H. Drysdale. Ltd.. Little Queen Street, and stealing liquor valued at £ 22 9s 4d. They were also charged with stealing a silver purse and other goods, valued at £l3 ss. The accused, it was stated in evidence, were found in the warehouse early on the morning of December i>. There was liquor in their possession, and broken bottles were found in the store.
The other property was stolen from luggage stored on the premises. Accused pleaded not guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
