MUNICIPAL BAND
CORAL CONCERT In the Town Hall, on Saturday next. Christmas Eve, the Municipal Band, soloists and assisting artists will give £t carol concert. A feature of the fine programme will be a series of oldfashioned Christmas carols to be sung by the “Harmony Eight,” with special band and bell accompaniments. The band will play the overtures “Poet and Peasant,” and “William Tell,” the “Hallelujah” chorus, tone poem, “Bells Across the Snow,” and a selection of popular standard favourites entitled “Classica.” Vocal solos by Miss Gladys Hosking and Miss Maida Davison, instrumental solos by Messrs. Fred Bowes, cornet, Hal. C. McLennan, flute, and J. Purchase, euphonium. Accompaniments by Mr. Leo. Whittaker. Booking, which is advisable, is at Messrs. Lewis R. Eady and Son, Ltd., and will open on Wednesday morning.
