“CHEVROLET GANG” GETS ITS DESERTS
THREE MEMBERS GAOLED Press Association. DUNEDIN, To-day. Three members of what was known as the “Chevrolet Gang’’ were sentenced to from three to five years’ reformative detention at the Supreme Court this morning. Allan Rueben Barnett, aged 21, on five charges of breaking and entering and theft, attempted breaking and entering, four charges of theft of postal packets, and three charges of arson, tvas sentenced to five years’ reformative detention, William Henry Martin, aged 20, on four charges of breaking and entering and theft, attempted breaking and entering, three charges of theft of postal packets and three charges of arson, was sentenced to three years’ reformative detention. Alexander Hodges, aged 17, for breaking and entering and theft, was sent, to the Borstal for three years. The prisoners have yet to come up for sentence in the low’er court for conversion of motor-cars.
