BIG FIELDS DUE ON BOXING DAY
AUCKLAND MEETING ACCEPTANCES ANNOUNCED The big Auckland racing and trotting carnival will open at Ellerslie on Monday week, Boxing Day, when the A-R.C. commences its four days summer meeting. On the opening day the Auckland Cup, Railway Handicap and Great Northern Foal Stakes will be decided. The acceptances for the first day, together with final payments for the three classic events, closed at five o’clock yesterday afternoon. A glance at the list of acceptances discloses no surprise defections, the majority of the fancied horses in the Cup and Railway standing their ground.
