ANSWERS TO PUZZLED GARDENERS
Southern Cross: Tuberoses are best planted out in a sheltered spot in the garden. They will then bloom in the autumn and die down in the winter. Do not shift for several years after planting as moving sometimes stops flowering. (2) Eucharis Lilies do not grow well unless cultivated under glass. They require a mixture of sand and cow manure and to be fed with plenty of liquid manure when in growth generally in our climate. (3) Probably your vine will do better next season. They were better starting growth this year owing to so much early rain and then the sudden change to hot days forced the fruit prematurely.
