IYA TO BROADCAST MUSIC FROM “CARMEN”

EXTENDED SESSIONS The Auckland broadcasting station, IYA, }ias decided to open on Monday, which is usually the silent day, at ..oon and will continue until 4.30 p.m. with a studio programme. In the evening, several choruses from “Carmen,” which is being performed at His Majesty’s Theatre, will be broadcast. During the week from December 19 to 24, the station will open at midday, and give an extended programme. During the following week, IYa will be transmitting, with only three short intervals, from S a.m. until 10 p.m. evry day. This is part of the campaign to popularise radio now being launched in Auckland.
