The National Memorial Committee has adopted a scheme of nomenclature lor the public places and stree's in Canberra. Six avenues which radiate from Capital Hill will be named after the capital cities of tne States, while the place and stree£ names will commemorate persons famous in Australian history, such as explorers, politicians, scientists, navigators, men of letters, and other notable persons.—A. and N.Z.
