A MOTOR CHRISTMAS

CAMPERS AND TOURERS PREPARING RECORD INQUIRIES (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The secretary of the Wellington Automobile Association, Mr. J. H. Stott, has received hundreds of inquiries for touring routes and information as to camping sites for the holidays, and he says it is evident that a record number of cars will be on the roads this Christmas. More people than ever seem intent on camping, both with a view to economy and the added enjoyment of the open air life. Despite the dull weather of the last few days, applications for routes have been received at the rate of nearly 50 a day, and in addition many new members have been joining the association during the past week or two. The new Tour Book and Motor Annual will be available for distribution to members this weekend, and there has been a deen demand for it already. The book contains a variety of information concerning roads and attractions throughout the North Island, right up to North Cape, excellent road guides displayed in a manner which will make for easy reference, an index to all public and some private motor camping sites, useful legal advice and a great deal of other information which will be of considerable value to all travellers by road. A comprehensive report on road conditions in the North Island is also being issued before Christmas.
