Victoria Regatta Attracts Big Entries
EIGHTY-SIX COMPETITORS HANDICAPS DECLARED Eighty-six yachts and launches will take part in the Victoria Cruising Club's annual regatta to be held over harbour courses on Saturday afternoon. Given good sailing conditions some excellent racing should be witnessed. The courses for the various classes are as follow: Keel and IT, L, and X Classes. —From flagship and mark moored south, round Resolution buoy on port hand, round white light in Rangitoto Channel starboard hand, back round Resolution buoy on starboard hand, round black buoy off Birkenhead on starboard hand and finish at flagship. V, S, M, T. X and Y Classes. —From flagship and mark moored south, thence round mark off tide deflector, round buoy in Shoal Bay, thence round mark off Watchman, keeping channel side off Pile Beacons, twice round. All marks to be passed on port hand. The starter will have power to direct oppdsite way of starting, if desired, over this course only. Z Class.—Same as above, but once round only. Launches.—From flagship and mark moored south, thence round Pile Beacon, off Chelsea, thence round outer pile, off Bayswater, thence round mark moored off tide deflector, finishing at flagship. All marks to bo passed on starboard hand.
