A CHAMPION IN ACTION

Using a style uncommon in New Zealand, but unquestionably a style that gives results, G. J. Skeats, of Wellington, cleared six feet in winning the amateur high jump championship of the Dominion at Christchurch last Saturday. This is a photograph of the jump in which he did it. Skeats is jumping toward the camera. He has taken off from his left foot and his r.ght leg IS well over. Continuing his movements from this stage, Skeats kicks h,s left leg oyer the bar, then cuts it away beneath his right, so that he ,s momentarily lying across the bar, face downwards. His head, shoulders and arms are then thrown back, and he lands on his feet facing the bar
