Forty-Eight Page SUN To-Morrow
Christmas Stories & Special Features
Competition Results Will be Announced
To-morrow night’s SUN will be the biggest issue yet published.
It will be issued in three sections of 16 pages each, containing about 22 pages of reading matter and 26 pages of advertising. No expense and trouble have been spared to make both news and advertising pages interesting and attractive.
One section/will contain the prize stories and poems selected from hundreds of entries in THE SUN’S Christmas Story and Verse Competitions. THE SUN has always endeavoured to encourage New Zealand writers and poets, and to-morrow’s paper will enable our readers to judge for themselves the standard of ability attained by young New Zealand aspirants to literary distinction.
This section will be illustrated by a choice selection of photographic studies, and for once, at any rate, a Christmas supplement will be offered to the Auckland public without any Maoris or steaming geysers or displays of dead trout, stags’ heads, or mako sharks.
The advertising pages will furnish many original examples of typographical display and constructive salesmanship. THE SUN service to advertisers is already making itself felt in Auckland, and all of the full page advertisements in to-morrow’s SUN have been written and designed by THE SUN’S advertising department.
