COACHES IN DEMAND

LANGRIDGE FOR ROTORUA TO TOUR WITH TARANAKI At last evening’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association, three letters were received asking for one of Auckland’s cricket coaches to visit country districts. Through Mr. E. C. Beale, the Taranaki Association asked if Langridge could be allowed to tour with the former’s team, as he would be an added attraction for Taranaki. Mr. Beale himself thought that Langridge would be able to do a great deal of good playing with a young team like his, and it would not be possible to do much coaching at home during the holidays. The committee gave Mr, Beale formal permission to take his team on tour, and granted Taranaki’s request to have Langridge included. A letter was received from the Rotorua and Thames Associations, each asking for one of the coaches for a few days. Mr. G. Jackson moved that Langridge be sent, as Bowley will be needed at home for Plunket Shield matches.

Mr. N. C. Snedden thought it would be advisable to open up the whole question of sending coaches to minor associations. After some discussion, the meeting, on the motion of Mr. Snedden, decided to assure Rotorua and Thames that Langridge would be sent fo.r a few days in January or February at a date to be arranged later.
