MOTORISTS’ PENALTIES

OVER 80 FINED HEAVY DAY AT COURT Over 80 motorists who had offended against city traffic regulations were fined at the Police Court to-day. • The City Council prosecutions were heard, by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. For dangerous driving-, Keith Page, James Draught, L. F. Pheffer and Alfred Collins were each fined £l. E. Leslie Woods, Mary Deathes, Lawrence Joan, Arthur Masters and R. G. White were each lined £2. Robert Weston was fined £3, and Leonard Green. Louis Williams, Oswald Denison and William Rush were each fined £4. For causing traffic obstructions, John Penberthy, A. G. Quartley, Thomas Cummins and Harold Porter Were each fined 10s.

For leaving cars unattended Freda Hunter, Percy Fowler and K. Will© were each fined 10s. For leaving vehicles in a safety zone Charlie Lowe and Barbara Bartlrop were each fined 10s. For driving past stationary trams Arthur Musters, Leslie Dixon and G. W. Connor were each fined 40s. For failing to obey a traffic signal James McDoland and Arthur Cornish were each fined £l. For leaving cars in the Domain William Kyte, W. Carder and J. F. Shanley were each fined £l. For turning to the right at Grafton Bridge in prohibited hours Richard Perham and Michael McCarthy were each fined 10s. For leaving buses on unauthorised stands David Shennon and Thomas Meredith were each fined £2, and Harry Whisker was fined £l. For failing to give turning signals G. Mephan and John Woods were each fined £l. A. G. Calla'nder was fined £1 for not giving way to a vehicle on his right. For pillion riding H. V. Parker and C. O. Litherland were each fined 10s. For having no registration plate J. D. Mannings was fined £l. Charles Goldberg was fined 10s for having ail indistinguishable number plate. POLICE PROSECUTIONS The police prosecutions were heard before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M. For leaving cars unattended in Queen Street C. C: Hill, Jack Rutland, J. R. Kingston, B. G. McGinn, F. J. Raynor and V. J. Stewart were each fined 10s. For “cutting" corners H. S. Jackson and Geoi'ge Sands were each fined 30s. For having no tail lights on their cars, fs. H. Barfoot, H. H. Beazley, John Keal.v, M. G’Callaghan, William Wright and Wong Sam were each fined 10s.
