CRUISING BY TRAIN

RAILWAY INNOVATION Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. The Railway Department is about to introduce a parlour or “cruising” car, equipped for sleeping and the preparation of meals. It will have one compartment with two single beds, two one-berth compartments and sleeping accommodation for two more and seats for eight, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Wherever there is a siding the car can be shunted off the line and remain stationary as long as required. “Cruising” by train is said to have become popular elsewhere.
