PLAYING OF SCHOOLBOYS
A.C.A. FACES PROBLEM The question of transferring secondary school boys to outside clubs wsis again brought up for discussion at l#st evening's meeting of the A.C.A. by Mr. W. S. Smeeton. Mr. Smeeton asked whether, if a schoolboy was not eligible to play on the first day of a match, could he come in on the second? The chairman ruled that any player not eligible to play on the first day was not eligible to take part in tha t particular match on the second day. As the secondary schools had not broken up prior to last Saturday, any boys leaving school would not be able to take part next Saturday in the second day of a two-day match. JUNIOR REP. TEAM On behalf of the junior management committee, Mr. D. V. Moore said a junior team would be travelling to Wellington to play a Wellington junior team for a shield donated by a resident of the capital city for competition between the two centres. The team would not be going until after the holidays and the players would all be under the age of 21 years. On the motion of Messrs. iNalder and Snedden it was decided to grant £25 toward the expenses of each of the teams.
