MAD MAORI TRYS TO DRIVE MOTOR

SURPRISE FOR DOCTOR A DANGEROUS LUNATIC (From Our Own Correspondent) THAMES, To-day. An unpleasant surprise awaited Hr. .1. B. Liggins, of Thames, when he entered his garage at an early hour on Monday morning. He found a mad Maori in his car, blowing the horn and putting in hard work with the starter. The doctor called up the police and the Maori was persuaded to let them drive him to the station, where he fought desperately with two constables before being lodged in a cell.

Later he was sent to a mental hospital.
