HANDEL’S “MESSIAH”

TOWN HALL THURSDAY Mr. Colin Muston will conduct “The Messiah,” the immortal oratoj-io of Handel, and the Auckland Choral Society’s offering, at the Town Hall on Thursday evening. The Royal Male Choir and the city organist, Mr. Maughan Barnett, will* assist. In the selection of soloists a very happy choice has been made. Miss Naomi Whatley, of Palmerston North, will be heard in the soprano role and Madame Irene Ainsley, the well-known Auckland artist, will sing the contralto solos. Recently returned from an extensive tour abroad, Mr. Ernest McKinlay’s appearance will be awaited with considerable interest. The bass solos will be taken by Mr. Drayton Venables, late of Auckland and now of Whangarei. The box plan opened at the E. and F. Piano Agency Co., Ltd., Queen Street, at 7 a.m. to-day.
