J. Johnston, Auckland, is an expert with the single-sculls, dinghy style, and preferably the wrong way about, as demonstrated at Pine Island on Sunday. L. E. Brooker, the Waitemata senior, has a brother rowing junior for Star, Wellington, this season, after stroking a successful maiden crew last year. L. E. Brooker is at present in New Plymouth. A knotty problem has been presented to the A.R.A. in the shape of a West Ender’s appeal against a penalty inflicted upon him by his club.
